Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected controlled crossbows (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs seized 600 suspected controlled crossbows with an estimated market value of about $1.38 million at Lok Ma Chau Control Point on August 11.

     Through risk assessment, Customs officers intercepted an incoming truck at Lok Ma Chau Control Point on August 11. Upon inspection, Customs officers found the suspected controlled crossbows on board the vehicle.

     The case was handed over to the Hong Kong Police Force for follow-up investigation.

     Under the Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, any person found guilty in possession of arms without a licence is liable to a maximum fine of $100,000 and imprisonment for 14 years.
