Experiential Lecture Series on Contemporary Dance "Decoding" to be held in September and November
******************************************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present the Experiential Lecture Series on Contemporary Dance "Decoding", to be hosted in Cantonese by Andy Wong and Vanessa Cheung, in September and November. Wong and Cheung are veteran local dancers and choreographers as well as dance scholars.

A dance piece can be decoded by looking into a few basic elements of composition, such as music, movement and spatial relationships. These are in fact the basic tools to help audiences to appreciate dance pieces. This lecture series will be divided into two parts. In part one, choreographers will discuss the creative process and concept development. In part two, there will be interaction sessions and video demonstrations to show participants the characteristics of contemporary dance.
