Hong Kong City Chinese Orchestra to give concert in September

     The Hong Kong City Chinese Orchestra and National Class One Conductor Hu Bingxu will perform dazzling Chinese instrumental pieces in a concert in September. The programme is being held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

     The orchestra will collaborate with renowned artists including Li Fuhua (jinghu/erhu), Ching Sau-wing (erhu) and Yu Wing-ka (pipa) to perform works featuring the unique sounds and richness of Chinese culture.

     The delightful programme includes the ensemble pieces "Nocturne to the Victoria Harbour", "Spring" and "Yalu Zangbo River" (excerpt of "Journey to Lhasa"); the erhu concerto "The Great Wall Capriccio"; the pipa concerto "Hua Mulan"; the jinghu and orchestra work "In the Deep of the Night"; and the erhu and orchestra piece "The Shanbei Cantabile".

     Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, concert by Hong Kong City Chinese Orchestra will be staged at 8pm on September 9 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of Sha Tin Town Hall.
