Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (July 27):
 
     Dr Eric Cheung Fuk-chi will take up the post of Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Kwong Wah Hospital, succeeding Dr Nelson Wat Ming-sun, who will take up the position of HCE of Caritas Medical Centre with effect from August 1.
 
     Dr Cheung is a specialist in psychiatry. Since 2012, he has been the HCE of Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) and Siu Lam Hospital. Prior to this, he served as Clinical Stream Coordinator (Mental Health) and Consultant (Psychiatry) of New Territories West Cluster (NTWC). Dr Cheung is a seasoned senior executive and possesses solid experience in hospital management. He led the hospital through various service reforms, including the establishment of a comprehensive Community Psychiatric Service in NTWC. In addition, he endeavoured to promote mental health literacy and reduce stigmatisation of mental illness through the development of the Mental Health Experience Centre in CPH.
 
     The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Cheung on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new post.
