CE to visit Singapore and Thailand

     The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, will visit Singapore and Bangkok from August 2 to 4 to foster closer ties between Hong Kong and countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

     After departing for Singapore on August 2, Mrs Lam will, on August 2 and 3, meet with senior Singapore government officials and attend the opening reception of the photo exhibition "Lee Fook Chee - Son of Singapore, Photographer of Hong Kong" in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. She will also take the opportunity to visit GovTech Hive, which is an innovation lab for digital services, as well as the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Civil Service College.

     Mrs Lam will then go to Bangkok in the evening on August 3. She will meet with senior Thailand government officials and members of the business sector of Thailand and other ASEAN countries the next day. She will also meet with leading representatives of Thai companies in the creative industries to explore collaboration opportunities.

     Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong in the morning on August 5. During her absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will be Acting Chief Executive.
