LD to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational Health Series of Office Workers (II): Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders" on August 2 (Wednesday). The talk aims to enhance office workers' awareness of musculoskeletal disorders of the back and upper limbs arising from prolonged repetitive movements or improper sitting postures. The talk will analyse the causes of and measures for preventing musculoskeletal disorders. Demonstrations of workplace exercise will also be included.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Occupational Safety and Health for Confined Space Workers" on August 10 (Thursday). The talk will discuss occupational safety, health hazards and preventive measures relating to working in confined spaces to enhance workers' awareness of these issues.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Space Museum, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The LD's Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Safety Officer and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiry or registration, please call 2852 4040.
