"Boundless Multimedia" Series to present two visiting shows with distinct styles
********************************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department's "Boundless Multimedia" Series will present two visiting shows with distinct styles in September and October.

"Hallo" by Zimmermann & de Perrot from Switzerland is a solo performance featuring a creative blend of mime, dance and circus routines. Martin Zimmermann's one-man show is an attempt to fling the absurdities of his inner life inside out and get a grip on his bizarre thought processes. For the setting of "Hallo", he has chosen a frame structure, turning it into a shop window-type space to showcase a tragicomic figure driven by the desire to become what he appears to be. The staid and seemingly static framework turns out to be much more dynamic and fragile than one may have thought. The performer tries to adapt himself to the ever more out-of-control world of appearances. Objects come alive and fly around his head and magic overflows from the space, obliterating the border between fiction and reality. "Hallo" will be staged at 8pm on September 8 and 9 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on September 10 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall. Tickets are priced at $220 and $280.

"Human Locomotion" by Laterna magika from the Czech Republic interprets the chronophotography of the noted British photographer and inventor Eadweard Muybridge and his life story through dance and physical theatre. Contemporary dance, physical theatre and impressive visual art mix together in the project to pay tribute to Muybridge, who invented a pioneering movie projector or zoopraxiscope and thus prefigured the era of film and whose works have had a great impact on visual media. Laterna magika's productions have much in common with Muybridge's work, with connections in movement, photography and film linking the arts group with the versatile photographer. "Human Locomotion" will be staged at 8pm on September 29 and 30 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on October 1 (Sunday) at the Theatre of Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre. Tickets are priced at $220 and $280. The programme contains adult contents.
