SEN to visit Sichuan

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will depart for Sichuan tomorrow (July 17) evening to attend the opening ceremony of the Youth Internship Programme at Wolong National Nature Reserve, Sichuan, and to learn more about nature conservation, biodiversity and eco-tourism in Sichuan.

     On July 18 (Tuesday), Mr Wong will officiate at the opening ceremony of the Youth Internship Programme at Wolong National Nature Reserve, Sichuan. Funded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and co-organised by the Ocean Park Corporation, the programme aims at enhancing the understanding of nature conservation of youths from Hong Kong and Guangdong Province. The internship programme is one of the major celebration programmes of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

     In the afternoon of the same day, Mr Wong will visit the Museum of Nature and Earthquake in Wolong and the China Giant Panda Garden inside the Wolong National Nature Reserve to observe the nature conservation work in Sichuan.

     On the morning of July 19 (Wednesday), Mr Wong will visit Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu to view its unique design which blends conserved historical buildings and commercial facilities. He will return to Hong Kong on the same day.
