President Xi Jinping swore in the Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, and the Principal Officials at the Celebrations of the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong's Return to the Motherland and the Inaugural Ceremony of the Fifth Term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region this morning (July 1).

     Shortly after the Inaugural Ceremony, President Xi met the new Chief Executive, Mrs Lam, and members of the executive, legislature and judiciary. They included the Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal, Principal Officials of the new term of Government, the President of the Legislative Council, new Non-official Members of the Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries.

     Accompanied by Mrs Lam, President Xi also spoke to them after a group photograph was taken.
