Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (June 22):
 
     Dr Lau Ip-tim will take up the post of Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) and Haven of Hope Hospital (HHH), succeeding Dr Tom Kam-tim, who will take up the position of Cluster Chief Executive (Kowloon East) and HCE of United Christian Hospital with effect from November 1, 2017.
 
     Dr Lau is a specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Since 2016, he has been the Deputy HCE of TKOH in addition to his role as Chief of Service of the Department of Medicine of the hospital, a position he has held since 2007. Dr Lau is an experienced senior clinician and one of the pioneer endocrinologists in Hong Kong. In his current post, he has been heavily involved in the expansion project and development of TKOH. Dr Lau has also made contributions to the implementation of the In-patient Medication Order Entry System as well as the development of clinical informatics and diabetes care in public hospitals.
 
     The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulate Dr Lau on his new appointment and wish him every success in taking up the new post.
