Elderly Pedestrian Safety Tour in Hong Kong Island to be held tomorrow

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     The Road Safety Council (RSC), Traffic Hong Kong Island of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Hong Kong Island and Islands) and Citybus Limited/New World First Bus Services Limited will jointly hold the Elderly Pedestrian Safety Tour in Hong Kong Island tomorrow (June 20). The launch ceremony will be held at Siu Sai Wan Community Hall at 3pm.
 
     The event will be officiated by the Chairlady of the Road Safety Campaign Publicity Strategy Working Group of the RSC, Ms Karin Wong; Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Hong Kong Island, Mr Michael Kao; Chief Inspector of Police, Road Safety Unit, Traffic Branch Headquarters, Mr Angus Choy; the District Commander (Wan Chai) of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Hong Kong Island and Islands), Dr Horace Mui; Liaison Officer (Chai Wan) of the Eastern District Office, Ms Vivian So; the Chairman of the Eastern District Road Safety Campaign Committee, Dr Liu Kai-ming; the Public Affairs Manager of Citybus Limited/New World First Bus Services Limited, Mr Kevin Li; and the Chairlady of the Wah Ha Great China Culture and Arts Association, Ms Christina Tin.
 
     The event will include a launch ceremony and a bus parade. After the ceremony, the guests will take an open-top bus through the Chai Wan area to distribute elderly pedestrian safety leaflets to deliver the road safety message to the public.
