***************************************************************

Hongkong Post announced today (June 15) the issue of a set of commemorative stamps on the themes of "The 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" and "China Post-Hongkong Post Joint Issue on the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Hong Kong to China" respectively, together with associated philatelic products, on July 1 (Saturday).

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, a set of four stamps on the theme of "The 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" will be issued. Showcasing not only the uniqueness and attractiveness of Hong Kong, this set of stamps also adopts a one-point design perspective to reflect the boundless promise of Hong Kong and the infinite opportunities available to all who live and work here. This set of stamps is printed in lithography plus hot foil stamping to enhance the festive tone.

The "China Post-Hongkong Post Joint Issue on the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Hong Kong to China" is the second joint issue in commemoration of Hong Kong’s return since the first issue in 2007 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our return to the Motherland. The stamp themed "Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Hong Kong to China with Dragon Dance" adopts the same design as one of three stamps to be issued by China Post at the same event on the same day.

Official first day covers of both stamp issues at $1.30 each will be on sale at all post offices from June 16. Official First Day Covers (Prestige Version) at $8 each for "The 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" will be on sale at all philatelic offices from the same day. The stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from the same day. Advance orders for servicing self-provided covers will be accepted at all philatelic offices from June 16 to 22.
