Tropical Storm Merbok roundup

     The Hong Kong Observatory replaced the No. 8 Southwest Gale or Storm Signal issued at 00.10am today (June 13), by the Strong Wind Signal No.3 at 4.40am as Tropical Storm Merbok is moving away from Hong Kong.

     Public transport service has gradually resumed normal.

     As at 4.30am, the 1823 Government Call Centre has received 20 reports of fallen trees.

     As at 4.30am, a total of 239 people have sought refuge at the temporary shelters opened by the Home Affairs Department. Twenty-two shelters are still in operation.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 4.40am, a total of 10 people, including three males and seven females, aged between 43 and 71, have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals during the typhoon period.

     On air traffic, the Airport Authority Hong Kong reported that a total of 44 flights have been cancelled and 350 flights delayed as at 5am.

     No report of flooding and landslide has been received so far.
