Community thematic carnival "Shake 'n' Move Tai Po!" to be held at Tai Po Hui Sports Centre this Sunday (with photo)

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold a community thematic carnival called "Shake 'n' Move Tai Po!" this Sunday (June 11) from 3pm to 6pm at Tai Po Hui Sports Centre, featuring a variety of energetic and dynamic performances and activities. Members of the public are invited to join in and admission is free.

     Veteran local sports host Wendy Hon will serve as the carnival's emcee. On the main stage there will be a variety of dancing including rhythmic tap dance, Brazilian capoeira combining dance with martial arts, contemporary dance that fuses with traditional lion dance, dynamic urban dance and a hip-hop "dance battle". Other attractions include rope skipping, artistic gymnastics, unicycling and artistic cycling, juggling, kung fu and yo yo performances.

     There will also be public participation workshops on capoeira, juggling, yo yo performing and contemporary dance. For children there will be creative interactive games, and parent-child movement workshops specially designed for children aged 4 to 6 and their parents will also be held for them to enjoy the fun of rhythmic and creative body movements.
 
     An additional programme, the "Easy Dance for All" workshop, will also be held where participants will have the chance to join the performance and show what they have just learnt from the instructors and other dancers on the main stage.
