SCS conducts home visits in Islands District under "Celebrations for All" project (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Clement Cheung, visited elderly households and families in need in the Islands District under the "Celebrations for All" project today (June 3).

     Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr Cheung said about 350 volunteers today would visit about 500 elderly households and families in need in Cheung Chau to learn more about their living conditions and provide assistance, bringing with them the love and care of the community.

     He said that the local welfare and community organisations will continue to send blessings to over 8 000 families in various places in Islands District including Cheung Chau, Peng Chau, Lamma Island and Lantau Island.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Islands), Mr Anthony Li, Mr Cheung and the Chairman of the Islands District Council, Mr Chow Yuk-tong, visited five elderly households and families in need in Cheung Chau with the volunteers, and took the opportunity to learn more about their living conditions and needs. Mr Cheung also distributed gift packs to them to share the joy of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Thomas Chow, also participated in the home visits today.
