STOXX extends its reach to Hong Kong

     Global index provider STOXX Ltd announced today (May 26) that it has opened a Hong Kong office as part of its expansion plan to enhance its presence in Asia, and gain access to the Mainland market via the city.

     As part of Deutsche Boerse Group, STOXX has been providing investable and innovative index solutions for a broad range of investment market participants for nearly 20 years. STOXX indices are licensed to more than 500 companies around the world as underlyings for exchange traded funds, futures and options, structured products and passively managed investment funds, according to the STOXX Board Chairman, Mr Holger Wohlenberg.

     Mr Wohlenberg said, "Based on the rapid growth of investment opportunities in Asia, we decided to further extend our reach in the region by opening a Hong Kong office, enlarging our Asia presence with offices in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

     He added, "Hong Kong offers us a strategic location from which to continue to expand in the region with a specific emphasis on Greater China. Our Hong Kong presence brings us closer to local and Mainland clients, and will help us serve them more effectively."

     Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Charles Ng congratulated STOXX on its opeing in Hong Kong. He said, "Hong Kong's position as an international financial centre has attracted many foreign and Mainland investment firms to set up presence in the city. It is the best place for STOXX to connect with its potential partners and clients in the region. We wish it every success in the city and beyond."
