Yuen Long Sports Centre to open on June 6 (with photos)

     The Yuen Long Sports Centre, managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will open for public use on June 6 (Tuesday). Located in the Yuen Long Leisure and Cultural Building at 52 Ma Tin Road, it provides a wide range of leisure and sports facilities and is the seventh indoor sports centre under the LCSD in the district. 

     The new sports centre occupies the third and fourth floors of the Yuen Long Leisure and Cultural Building and has a total area of 7 600 square metres. On the fourth floor is a multi-purpose arena that can be used as two basketball courts or two volleyball courts or eight badminton courts, while the third floor provides two multi-purpose activity rooms, one fitness room, one table-tennis room with four table-tennis tables and a children's play room. It will be open from 7am to 11pm daily, except on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month when it will be closed from 7am to 1pm for regular maintenance.

     Adjacent to various cultural and leisure facilities including the Yuen Long Theatre, Yuen Long Park, Yuen Long Stadium and a public swimming pool, the sports centre is accessible by MTR West Rail Line, Light Rail, bus or minibus. 

     Members of the public can reserve the facilities of the sports centre from May 28 via the Leisure Link computerised booking system, booking counters, self-service kiosks or telephone reservation through the telephone services centre in accordance with the LCSD's booking procedure for leisure and sports facilities.
