Commemorative postcards, special postmark and stamps to be issued for first anniversary of T·PARK (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (May 15) said that the department has produced a set of four commemorative postcards for free distribution to T·PARK visitors to mark its first anniversary. During the period from May 19 to 25, visitors can mail the postcards by putting them into a designated postal box at T·PARK (for local mail only). The postcards will then arrive at their destinations with a specially designed T·PARK stamp and an anniversary postmark stamped on each postcard. The commemorative stamps will be given out while stocks last.

The postcards feature different areas of T·PARK, namely T·CAFE, T·GARDEN, T·SPA and its light show, while the commemorative stamps have 12 different designs exhibiting the key facilities and major attractions of T·PARK, including its ingenious architectural design, advanced treatment plant and equipment, scenic gardens and stylish upcycled furniture. In addition, the anniversary postmark is also a creative design with the theme of "T" combined with the symbols of eight different zones of T·PARK, echoing its simple design style.

To allow members of the public to understand the value of recycling and enjoy the fun of upcycling, T·PARK will organise Upcycled Pen Workshops on May 20 and 21. Participants will be able to hand-make their own unique pens using second-hand wood and put "waste-to-resources" in action. A limited number of places are available for participants to enroll on-site on the event days.

A spokesman for the EPD said that T·PARK is a project which combines advanced technologies with a variety of facilities. As well as being an integrated sludge treatment facility it is also an environmental education centre and a recreational complex. Since its opening on May 19 last year, T·PARK has attracted a large number of visitors from various professional bodies and community organisations, as well as institutions and schools. The park has received more than 73 000 visitors to date.

In addition, T·PARK has won a number of awards for its outstanding architectural design and various green building elements. Recently, T·PARK was awarded the highest Platinum Rating in the Provisional Assessment Stage under the BEAM Plus New Buildings (V1.1) by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). It has also achieved an outstanding performance in the aspects of "indoor environmental quality", "energy use" and "water use". For more information about the green features of T·PARK, members of the public are invited to watch the promotional video posted on YouTube's T·PARK channel: youtu.be/b_jDxwQ3b40. The environmental performance of T·PARK in the BEAM Plus assessment is also available on the HKGBC's online exhibition platform: greenbuilding.hkgbc.org.hk/eng/projects/view/90.

Located at 25 Nim Wan Road, Tsang Tsui, Tuen Mun, T·PARK is open to the public on Monday and from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Members of the public can book a visit via its dedicated hotline or official website. Guided tours are available on every open day and a free shuttle bus service is available for visitors to and from Tuen Mun V city and T·PARK. More information about T·PARK is available at its thematic website: www.tpark.hk.
