Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected heroin (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (May 5) seized about 720 grams of suspected heroin with an estimated market value of about $530,000 at Lo Wu Control Point.
 
     Customs officers intercepted an incoming male yesterday night at Lo Wu Control Point and found the suspected heroin in his possession. The 43-year-old man was then arrested.
 
     The arrested man claimed to be a transportation worker. Investigation is ongoing.
 
     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
