SHA to visit Budapest, Vienna and Venice

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, will leave Hong Kong at night on May 6 (Saturday) for a visit to Budapest in Hungary, Vienna in Austria and Venice in Italy.

     Mr Lau will arrive in Budapest on May 7 (Budapest time). He will meet with government officials responsible for cultural affairs and representatives of the Hungarian National Assembly on May 8 (Budapest time). He will also visit a renowned sports university and meet with its teachers and students. He will proceed to Vienna in the morning on May 9 (Budapest time).

     In Vienna, Mr Lau will call on government officials responsible for culture and sport affairs in Austria, visit cultural facilities and meet with Hong Kong community members at a dinner gathering.

     On May 10 (Vienna time), Mr Lau will proceed to Venice. During his stay there, he will meet with government officials responsible for cultural affairs in Italy, officiate at the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and attend a gala dinner jointly organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the M+ museum of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. He will also attend the opening ceremonies of the Chinese Pavilion and the Macau Pavilion and visit the pavilions of different countries and regions.

     Mr Lau will depart Venice for Hong Kong in the afternoon on May 13 (Venice time) and arrive in Hong Kong in the afternoon on May 14 (Hong Kong time).
