Hong Kong and Indonesia sign MoU on Cultural Co-operation (with photos)

     The Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (Indonesia) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cultural Co-operation today (May 1).

     Representing the HKSAR Government, the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, signed the MoU with the Minister of Education and Culture, Indonesia, Dr Muhadjir Effendy.

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, and the President of Indonesia, Mr Joko Widodo, also attended the signing ceremony.

     The MoU reflects the joint efforts of Hong Kong and Indonesia in strengthening cultural co-operation between the two places and provides a framework for promoting collaborative initiatives and exchanges in the fields of the art and culture. Such co-operation will contribute to the furtherance of closer cultural ties and better understanding between the peoples of Indonesia and Hong Kong.
