The "Reminiscences: Life in Hong Kong's Built Heritage" exhibition being held at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre will be extended to May 31, to enable more people to appreciate over 50 valuable historic building exhibits and artefacts, and learn about the city's rich built heritage and the early social landscape revealed by these historic buildings.
      
     The exhibition, which is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and organised by the Antiquities and Monuments Office, is one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
      
     Highlight exhibits include the first-generation Bishop's Throne of St John's Cathedral; a wooden signboard from the oldest surviving pawn shop in Hong Kong - Chun Yuen Pawn House in Yuen Long Old Market; a door lock and key from Victoria Prison in Central; an old fung shui timber pole with a dragon pattern from in front of Hung Shing Temple in Ap Lei Chau and a cast-iron halberd from Cheung Chun Yuen in Kam Tin.
      
     The gallery also showcases various creative interactive exhibits as well as images and models created using advanced 3D stereoscopic scanning and printing technology. Through these displays, visitors will be able to better understand the changes in heritage conservation technology and the challenges of conserving our built heritage.
