The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Joko Widodo, will lead a delegation to officially visit Hong Kong for two days from April 30 to May 1.

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will meet with the President on May 1 at Government House.

"In view of the current heightened international terrorist situation, Police will enhance security measures in order to ensure the personal safety of the President," a Police spokesman said today (April 28).

"Appropriate protective coverage including personal and traffic escort will be provided to the President throughout his stay in Hong Kong. Temporary traffic and pedestrian access diversion may occur which may cause inconvenience to members of the public and other road users.

"We appeal to the public for their understanding and patience and to follow the advice given by police officers. Motorists are also urged to take heed of traffic signs and follow the instructions of the Traffic Police at scene.

"While striving to ensure a safe visit of the President, Police will keep inconvenience to the public to a minimum," the spokesman said.
