Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation (2)

Ho Hi Mong Investment Company Limited was fined $140,000 at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts today (April 27) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on April 15, 2016 at a construction site in Tsuen Wan. A worker, while carrying out pipe insulation work for an air-conditioning system in a plant room of a commercial building, fell about four metres to the ground and sustained fatal injury.
