Holiday clinic service on Labour Day

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson today (April 27) reminded the public that 13 general out-patient clinics (see table below) will continue to provide services on Labour Day (May 1) holiday. Members of the public requiring medical consultation can make advance booking through the telephone system as usual for an appointment. Details of the holiday clinic service during Labour Day are available by calling the HA Infoline at 2882 4866.
According to the spokesman, the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Departments in public hospitals will also operate as usual during the holiday to serve patients with urgent medical needs. The established triage system will ensure priority treatment for critical and emergency patients according to their clinical condition. The queuing time is expected to be longer for semi-urgent and non-urgent patients as there may be more patients attending A&E departments during holidays. The HA appeals to the public for understanding and co-operation while waiting for consultation. Non-urgent patients should consider seeking consultation at general out-patient clinics, with private doctors or at the 24-hour clinics of private hospitals.
"To facilitate members of the public to grasp the situation of public hospital services, the HA will provide the information on A&E waiting time, key statistics such as A&E attendance, the medical in-patient bed occupancy rate and hyperlinks to private healthcare service providers on the website (www.ha.org.hk/goto/wintersurge/en) and the 'HA Touch' mobile app," the spokesperson added.
