Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan yesterday (April 24) in which a 56-year-old woman died.

     At about 11.30pm, a private car driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along Wo Yi Hop Road northbound. When reaching near 290 Wo Yi Hop Road, it reportedly rammed into two female pedestrians aged 56 and 44 respectively.

     The 56-year-old woman was trapped under the private car and rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious head injuries, she was certified dead at scene. The 44-year-old woman sustained injuries to her head and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state. The male private car driver felt unwell and was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in conscious state, and was later transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital.

     The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.
