Cluster of Influenza A cases in Kowloon Hospital

Regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of patients infected with Influenza A in a rehabilitation ward, the spokesperson for Kowloon Hospital made the following update today (April 16):
Two more patients (male patient aged 67 and female patient aged 70) in the ward had presented with upper respiratory symptoms. Clinical tests had been arranged and confirmed Influenza A infection for the patients. The concerned patients are being treated under isolation with stable condition.
Restricted visiting has been imposed on the concerned ward. Infection control measures have already been stepped up according to established guidelines. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
