************************************************************
In accordance with the Hong Kong Civil Aviation (Investigation of Accidents) Regulations (Chapter 448B), the Inspector of Accidents of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) today (March 28) released Accident Bulletin 1/2017 in relation to the accident involving a Cessna 152 fixed-wing aircraft (registration mark B-HHN) on February 26. The aircraft was operated by the Hong Kong Aviation Club Limited. When conducting an Aircraft Rating Flight Test for the other pilot, the pilot-in-command executed a forced landing due to a reported "rough engine". The aircraft made contact with and came to a rest in trees outside a golf driving course at Sam Pui Chau, New Territories.

A spokesperson for the CAD said that the bulletin contains information relating to the accident as determined up to the time of issue, and must be regarded as tentative.

"The investigation team will continue with the investigation and will conduct more in-depth analysis of the relevant data and information collected and study all relevant information in order to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident," the spokesperson said.

The full Accident Bulletin 1/2017 is available for download from the CAD webpage (www.cad.gov.hk/english/reports.html).
