REO instructed to fully assist in police investigation of missing computer case

The Registration and Electoral Office (REO) informed the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau (CMAB) at around 8.30pm today (March 27) that it had lost two notebook computers stored at the fallback venue for the Chief Executive Election at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The personal data of registered voters were stored inside the computers. REO has reported the incident to the Police and informed the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. CMAB has instructed REO to fully assist in the police investigation of the case.
