Acclaimed singer Ute Lemper to stage "Last Tango in Berlin" in April
********************************************************************
Ute Lemper has charmed audiences around the world with her charismatic voice. The much loved singer will return to Hong Kong for a concert entitled "Last Tango in Berlin" in April.

"Last Tango in Berlin" is a showcase of Lemper's best throughout her career. It touches on all the different musical chapters of her main repertoire of jazz, tango and ethnic musical influences, yet also leaves a lot of space for great moments of virtuosity. The journey starts in Berlin with her root repertoire of Brecht and Weill and the Berlin cabaret songs. It continues into the poetic universe of the French chansons by Brel, Piaf and Ferre and further to the Argentinian world of tango by Piazzolla. She also performs her own songs to tell her own stories.

Born in Munster, Germany, Lemper completed her studies at the Dance Academy in Cologne and the Max Reinhardt Seminary Drama School in Vienna. Her professional début on the musical stage was in the original Vienna production of "Cats". She has left her indelible mark on the stage, in films and as a recording artist. She was honoured with the Moliere Award for Best Actress, the Laurence Olivier Award for the Best Actress and the American Theatre Award. She was also named Billboard Magazine's Crossover Artist of the Year for 1993-94 and nominated for a Grammy Award for her album "Paris Days/Berlin Nights" in 2013.
