Committee on Artificial Turf Pitches holds first meeting to discuss improvement measures

     The Committee on Artificial Turf Pitches, which was established with an aim to enhance the third generation (3G) artificial turf pitches under the management of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), held its first meeting today (March 15). Convened by the LCSD, the Committee comprises representatives of relevant government departments and national sports associations as well as local experts.

     At the meeting, members of the Committee exchanged views on feasible improvement measures to enhance the current standard, requirements and practices for the design, construction, installation and maintenance of 3G pitches in venues managed by the LCSD, taking into account the latest development and relevant local and international good practice.

     The Committee would continue deliberations on the improvement measures in the next meeting and the findings and recommendations of the Committee will be taken into account in the planning and maintenance of 3G pitches in the future.

     The membership of the Committee is in the Annex.
