Fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui in the small hours today (March 14) in which two men aged 30 and 37 died.

     At about 0.10am, a private car driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling along Jockey Club Road towards Sheung Shui. When approaching near Fanling Wai, it reportedly rammed into kerb and caught fire.

     Firemen put out the fire, and found the bodies of two male passengers, aged 30 and 37, in the private car. The 40-year-old male driver sustained hand and back injuries and was sent to North District Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.

     The 40-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. The arrested man was released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late-March.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
