Update on cluster of Multi-drug Resistant Acinetobacter case in Princess Margaret Hospital

The spokesperson for Princess Margaret Hospital issued the following update today (March 1) regarding an earlier announcement on a cluster of Multi-drug Resistant Acinetobacter (MDRA) in a medical ward:
The hospital confirmed one more 70-year-old male patient to have MDRA. The patient is being treated under isolation and is in a stable condition.
The hospital will continue the enhanced infection control measures and closely monitor the situation. The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
