Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung

     Police today (February 28) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Sai Kung on February 21 in which a 45-year-old woman died.

     About 7.49pm on that day, a private car driven by a 56-year-old man travelling along Hong Kin Road towards Tui Min Hoi Estate. When approaching 120 Hong Kin Road, it reportedly knocked down the 45-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 5.17pm on February 23.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early March.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
