The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (February 28) said he is honoured to be appointed as a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

     Mr Leung will depart for Beijing in the evening on March 2 and attend the fifth session of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC on the following day (March 3). He will attend the opening ceremony of the fifth session of the 12th National People's Congress on March 5.

     Accompanying the Chief Executive on the visit will be the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Edward Yau, and the Director of Information Services, Mr Joe Wong.

     Mr Leung will return to Hong Kong in the evening on March 5. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
