SED to visit Thailand for further education co-operation

     The Secretary for Education (SED), Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, will leave for Bangkok, Thailand, this Sunday (February 19) to deliberate with the Thai Ministry of Education on the following day on ways to enhance education co-operation.
 
     Thailand is the second largest economy in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, with frequent economic, trade and cultural exchanges with Hong Kong. Education co-operation between the two places has been gathering momentum.
 
     Last month, Mr Ng signed a memorandum of understanding on education co-operation with the Thai Government on behalf of the Hong Kong Administrative Region Government. During his visit to Bangkok, he will meet with officials of the Thai Ministry of Education for further discussions on academic and student exchanges, including the Belt and Road Scholarship.

     In addition, Mr Ng will visit a university and a school to learn more about the latest developments of education in the country.
 
     Accompanying Mr Ng on his visit to Thailand will be the Administrative Assistant to the SED, Mr Edward Yu. They will return to Hong Kong on February 21.
