SFH on mental health services

Reporter: Some people are saying that the arson case on MTR train actually shows that there isn’t enough support given to patients with mental illness. How would you respond to that?
Secretary for Food and Health: The Special Administrative Region Government attaches great importance to the provision of mental health services to these patients. We have actually since 2013 conducted a review on mental health services of Hong Kong. According to the recommendations of the Review Committee (on Mental Health), we have already implemented a number of initiatives to improve different aspects of mental health services. In future, the Government will continue to accord importance to mental health services and increase the resources required for such services.
