SED to attend regular working meeting on education in Beijing

     The Secretary for Education (SED), Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, will attend a regular working meeting with the Ministry of Education in Beijing next Tuesday (February 14), and will visit the Beijing Municipal Education Commission for exchanges on the following day.
 
     Mr Ng will give an introduction to the latest developments in the areas of kindergarten education, primary and secondary education, post-secondary education and vocational and professional education in the 2017 Policy Address.
 
     During his stay in Beijing, Mr Ng will meet some Hong Kong students currently studying on the Mainland to learn more about their recent learning and daily life. He will also visit an international school.
 
     Officials accompanying Mr Ng on his visit to Beijing will include the Permanent Secretary for Education, Mrs Marion Lai; Deputy Secretaries for Education Mr Brian Lo, Mrs Michelle Wong and Dr Catherine K K Chan; the Principal Assistant Secretary for Education (School Development), Ms Teresa Chan; and the Administrative Assistant to the SED, Mr Edward Yu. They will return to Hong Kong in the evening on February 15.
 
     During Mr Ng's absence, the Under Secretary for Education, Mr Kevin Yeung, will be the Acting SED.
