Hong Kong and Guangzhou musicians to perform "Cantonese Music Assembly" concert

     Musicians from Hong Kong and Guangzhou will jointly perform in the "Cantonese Music Assembly" Cross-Disciplines Guangdong Music Concert in March. The concert is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department as part of its Guangdong Music Series.
 
     The performers, all of whom were born in the 1970s and 80s, include Yu Lefu, Chan Pik-sum, Yeung Wai-kit, Sha Jingshan, Yanki Ma, Bryan Lai, Tong Shaomin and Liang Jia. In addition to traditional Cantonese music, new interpretations of Cantonese songs and vocal music will offer the audience a new musical experience.
 
     The concert aims to showcase the vibrant and diverse culture of Guangdong and how it absorbs foreign culture, as well as to demonstrate the commitment of the new generation of Hong Kong and Guangzhou musicians to the transmission and passing on of Cantonese music. The programme includes "A Song of Triumph", "In Celebration of Good Times", "Autumn Moon Upon Placid Lake", "Birds returning to the Woods", "United We Go", "Village Children", and more.
 
     The "Cantonese Music Assembly" Cross-Disciplines Guangdong Music Concert will be staged at 8pm on March 4 (Saturday) at the Theatre, Yau Ma Tei Theatre. Tickets priced at $120 and $180 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone credit card bookings, please call 2111 5999.
