In response to media enquiries on news reports that Hong Kong Police Force involved in an incident happened on January 27 concerning a Mainland citizen in Hong Kong, Police stressed today (February 1) that such reports were purely speculative and carried no truth.

     The incident first came into notice of Police after a “Request for Police Assistance” report was received on January 28. Police have immediately started an investigation since then. Police attach great importance to the case and active investigation is underway. Although a family member of the subject requested the Police to withdraw the report on January 29, Police have continued to investigate the case and requested the Mainland authorities’ assistance on the subject’s conditions in the Mainland.
