Temporary traffic arrangements for tram track renewal works in Wan Chai District from this Friday
***************************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (February 1) reminded the public that to facilitate tram track renewal works in Wan Chai District, the following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 8am on Friday (February 3) to 6am next Monday (February 6):

(1) the nearside lane of Hennessy Road westbound from a point about 30 metres east of its junction with Tin Lok Lane to a point about 65m east of the same junction; and
(2) the offside lane of Tin Lok Lane northbound from a point about 20m south of its junction with Hennessy Road to a point about 70m south of the same junction (except for trams).

Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on-site to guide motorists.

The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of the affected areas will be more congested than on normal days. Members of the public are advised to plan their journey early and allow more traveling time to cater for unexpected delay. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, observe instructions given by the Police, and be alert to the latest traffic news through the media.

Details of the temporary traffic arrangements are now available on the department's website (www.td.gov.hk).
