Employer and occupier fined for violation of safety legislation

     Yi Tin Engineering Limited and Yongnam Engineering (HK) Limited were fined $30,000 and $40,000 respectively at Fanling Magistrates' Courts today (January 18) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on June 22, 2016 at an open storage yard in Shek Kong. A worker fell from some metal struts on which he was working. He sustained a serious head injury and subsequently passed away.
