Entries invited for plant exhibit competition of Hong Kong Flower Show 2017

     Members of the public are invited to enrol for the plant exhibit competition, which is one of the major activities of the Hong Kong Flower Show 2017. Applications are free of charge and will remain open until January 24.
 
     The flower show will be held in Victoria Park for 10 days from March 10 to 19, featuring "Blossoms of Love" as the main theme with the rose as the theme flower.
 
     The competition is divided into 15 sections with 94 classes. The sections include orchids, Chinese cymbidiums, potted plants, cactuses and succulents, foliage and carnivorous plants, African violets, bonsai-type plants, floral arrangements in Western and Oriental styles, floral art by school children, primary and secondary schools' potted plant growing/nursing, and the school garden plot competition.
 
     Completed entry forms should be submitted in person or by post to the Secretariat of the Show Committee of the Hong Kong Flower Show 2017 (11/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin); or by fax (2691 7264) on or before January 24.
 
     Entry forms and rules of the competition are available at the following locations:
(1) the Secretariat of the Show Committee of the Hong Kong Flower Show 2017;
(2) Green Education and Resource Centre (1/F, Kowloon Park Office, 22 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui);
(3) District Leisure Services Offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD); and
(4) Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of the Home Affairs Department; or
(5) can be downloaded from the LCSD website www.lcsd.gov.hk.

     This year's flower show, presented by the LCSD, is one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is supporting the flower show for the fifth consecutive year, and has been the Major Sponsor of the flower show since 2014.
