CA approves termination of CETV's non-domestic television programme service licence

The Communications Authority (CA) has approved the application of China Entertainment Television Broadcast Limited (CETV) to terminate its non-domestic television programme service licence with effect from January 1, 2017. The CA noted that the termination of licence was a commercial decision of the licensee.
Following the termination of CETV's licence, there will be 16 non-domestic television programme service licensees in Hong Kong providing more than 200 satellite television channels targeting viewers in the Asia Pacific region.
