Pants Theatre Production's new work explores family relationships

The bond between parents and children is not only the strongest family relationship but also the most complicated. "My Dad, My Mom, My Son and My Daughter…" comprises two original one-act plays - "Farewell to the Receding Shadow" and "Fantasia on Fathers and Sons" - both of which explore the intricate relationships within the family.
Drawing on her own experience as a mother and a daughter with the addition of true life stories, promising playwright Lung Wai-kit created the touching solo drama "Farewell to the Receding Shadow" about three generations of mothers and daughters. Directed by Wu Hoi-fai and performed by Cecilia Ng, it tells a story of modern women encountering pressure from family and work.
Through the lens of ethnodrama, the young playwright Callas Cheang transformed first-hand material from interviews with a few pairs of fathers and sons into "Fantasia on Fathers and Sons", so as to explore the multifaceted relationship between fathers and sons nowadays. The production is directed by Terence Chang and performed by Kwok Siu-kit, Yung Wai-tung, Chiu Chin-Hei and Yim Kui-kin.
"My Dad, My Mom, My Son and My Daughter…" (in Cantonese) is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be held at 8pm on February 17 and 18 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on February 19 (Sunday) at the Cultural Activities Hall of Sha Tin Town Hall, and at 8pm on February 25 (Saturday) and at 3pm on February 26 (Sunday) at the Cultural Activities Hall of Tsuen Wan Town Hall.
