TID to participate in World SME Expo
************************************
The Trade and Industry Department (TID) will participate in the World SME Expo to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Hall 1 from tomorrow to Saturday (December 1 to 3).

The annual expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), provides a one-stop platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to explore business opportunities in the world market, and to find business solutions and support services to address their needs.

As one of the supporting organisations and a major exhibitor, the TID will showcase the department's work and support services to SMEs at Booth 1EC01. In addition, business professionals and expert consultants will be available to provide free one-on-one advisory services for SMEs on matters related to accounting and legal matters, intellectual property, marketing, and setting up of business. SMEs are welcome to visit the department's booth to make arrangements for meeting these experts.

During the Expo, the TID will jointly hold with the HKTDC a two-day seminar series entitled "Innovation and Branding - The New Breed of SMEs" on December 1 and 2 in Seminar Room D, Hall 1. Various branding experts and representatives of renowned brands will come together to share their views on how SMEs can embrace the new trends of customer preferences and competition by brand development and innovation.

In addition, a seminar entitled "Support to SMEs: Mentorship Programme and Funding Support Measures of the Trade and Industry Department" will be held in Seminar Room D, Hall 1, in the afternoon on December 2 to introduce the TID's SME Mentorship Programme and SME funding schemes.
