Hong Kong Customs and Australian Border Force hold 9th Customs-to-Customs Talks (with photo)

     The Commissioner of the Australian Border Force, Mr Roman Quaedvlieg, led a four-member delegation to attend the 9th Customs-to-Customs Talks chaired by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Roy Tang, in Hong Kong today (November 15). At the meeting, a joint communique for closer customs co-operation was signed.
 
     The bilateral event is held biennially and hosted alternately. The Talks aim to enhance co-operation and exchange of experience on enforcement fronts. At the meeting, the two delegations updated each other on the recent developments of both sides. Items including the development of supply chain security, anti-drug enforcement and intelligence exchange, as well as information technology and strategic human resource management, were discussed in the meeting.
 
     Mr Tang and Mr Quaedvlieg reaffirmed the target to sign and implement the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Authorized Economic Operators in 2017.
