Liquor Licensing Board members visit licensed liquor premises (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Liquor Licensing Board:

     Members of the Liquor Licensing Board, led by the Board Chairman, Mr Stephen Yau, visited a number of premises with liquor licences in Wan Chai and Central districts in the small hours of today (November 13) to learn more about the operation of different types of premises with liquor licences and related enforcement actions by the Police.

     During the visit, the members were briefed by Police representatives on various issues related to the regulation of premises with liquor licences, including crowd control, traffic flow, law and order, fire safety and noise problems.

     Representatives from the Fire Services Department, the Buildings Department and the Environmental Protection Department also joined the visit.

     The Board issued 868 new licences and renewed 4 535 liquor and club liquor licences from January to October this year.

     Accompanying the Board Chairman on the visit were the Vice-chairman, Dr Wong Kong-tin, and Board members Ms Fan Chui-wah, Ms Hui Mei-sheung, Mr Ip Ngo-tung, Mr Ko Chun-wa, Ms Lam Po-ling, Ms Lau Mi-chun, Ms Lee Kwun-yee and Mr Tam Siu-sing.

     They were joined by the Permanent Secretary for Food and Health (Food), Mrs Cherry Tse and the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, Miss Vivian Lau.
