***************************************************************

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen's birth, the Hong Kong Museum of History today (November 12) launched the "Inspiring Insights into Dr Sun Yat-sen and His Time" exhibition, which will run until December 5. The exhibition enables members of the public to learn about the life and career of Dr Sun, as well as the times he lived in.

The exhibition features artefacts together with a wide range of photos, videos and multimedia programmes, through which visitors can learn about the revolutionary career of Dr Sun Yat-sen and the interpersonal network he developed in Hong Kong. A life-size figure of Dr Sun during his teenage years is available for photo-taking.

To give visitors a better understanding about the times of Dr Sun, the exhibition also features other revolutionaries such as Li Yuk-tong and Tse Tsan-tai, reformers Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao, and even the Qing rulers Empress Dowager Cixi and the Xuantong Emperor. Interesting stories are shared to offer visitors a wider perspective on the late Qing and early Republican periods, as well as how Dr Sun rose to the challenges for his revolutionary cause.
