SHA's Commendation Scheme Presentation Ceremony held (with photos)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs (SHA), Mr Lau Kong-wah, today (November 10) presented commendation certificates and award pins to 57 persons for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of sports and recreation, arts and culture, and community greening.

     Speaking at the SHA's Commendation Scheme Presentation Ceremony at Hong Kong Cultural Centre this afternoon, Mr Lau expressed his gratitude to the awardees for their continuous efforts and devotion to furthering the development and diversification of sports, culture and arts, as well as their exceptional achievements in community greening over the years.
 
     Mr Lau praised the awardees for being models of excellence, who worked together with different sectors of the society to promote positive life attitudes. Mr Lau said he looked forward to working alongside the awardees in continuing to develop Hong Kong into a vibrant cosmopolitan city.
 
     The SHA's Commendation Scheme, introduced in 2002, aims to give recognition to individuals who make outstanding achievements and contributions to community building, community services, and the development of sports, culture and arts.
